Group Hike | Tom's Thumb – Arizona Hikers Guide
Alright Arizona hiking community we are back at it again with another group hike. We are going to try and do these once a month and your input is valuable as to when and where so let us know in the comments!
Here is everything you need to know;
Tom’s Thumb Trail
The Tom’s Thumb Trail is approximately 4.5 miles round trip with an elevation gain of around +1200 ft. It is located in the Mcdowell Sonoran Preserve and is one of the premier hiking trails in the area. The final destination is a massive granite spire that looks just like a thumb, hence the name.

- Dogs friendly: Yes (I’ll be bringing mine)
- Kids friendly: Yes, older ones
- Type of hike: Out and Back
- Difficulty: Moderate-Strenuous
